ISRO Competition for Students 2025 : U R Rao Satellite Centre Solicits from the Youth of India, Innovative Ideas, Design of Robotics rovers for future missions, through the conduct of IRoC-U

URSC Objective – to provide Development Opportunities, in Space Robotics to the Participating entitles & Leverage to Creative thinking, among the youth, for ISRO Interplanetary missions.

ISRO-URSC Robotics Challenge 2025 : Outcome for Students

Identify, formulate, Solve Complex Engineering Problems, by applying principles of mathematics, science & engineering.
As per Requirements, Apply Engineering Designs.
Communicate effictively.
Collaborate with a team, Provide inclusive leadership, establish goal, plans, task.
Formulate & conduct appropriate experiments analyses & interpret test & analytical data, use engineering judgement to Draw Conclusions.

Details Guidelines about ISRO URSC Robotics Challenges

ISRO Future goal is the exploration of Martian surface, and as a part of Martian Surface Exploration, An autonomous Aerial vehicle will carry out Scientific Activities.

IRoC-U_2025 Challenges to students to develop ” Autonomous navigation for an Aerial vehicle ( ANAV )” without any external navigation system aid like GNSS, pseudo lite, or reflector arrays with a tagline ‘FLY ME ON MARS”

Students community needs to develop and demonstrate, the autonomous capabilities of ANAV.

for, Navigation & guidance without the aid of any external navigation.
to identify safe landing spots, and perform stable take-off and landing.

ANAV has to perform following tasks :

Stable vertical take-off, hover & landing.
ANAV shall scan the ARENA, to identify the boundary, and the safe spots for landing.
ANAV Shall choose the sequence and stable landing, at each safe spot.
After safe landing, ANAV shall return to the Home position.
